Kedarkantha Trek, Uttarakhand

Arrive in Dehradun and begin your journey to Sankri village. Drive along the Yamuna and Tons rivers, passing through pine forests, and marvel at nature's splendour. After a pleasant ride, arrive at Sankri and check-in to a lovely campsite. At the campsite, savor a delectable meal. Sankri is where you'll spend the night.

You will leave Saur Village after breakfast and begin going up the mountain. We'll pass via several high-altitude suspension bridges and little communities along the way. Reach the Juda Ka Talab lake, which was formed when Lord Shiva opened a little lock of his hair and water flowed from it, making this massive lake. Step out of your tents and take in the view of the star-studded sky above the frozen lake. Stay in Juda Ka Talab for the night.

Breakfast at Juda Ka Talab before heading to the Kedarkantha base. Take in the beauty of the snow-covered walkway and bits of green that line your path. If the weather is bad, stay in one of the Gujjar huts, which are safe and well-equipped. The magnificent panorama of Bandarpoonch, Swargarohini, Kala Nag, and Ranglana, snow-capped Himalayan peaks, will take your breath away. When you arrive at the campsite, celebrate the end of the day with a delicious dinner before retiring to your tents for the night. Stay the night at the Kedarkantha base.

Prepare for the ultimate adventure after breakfast. Start early in the morning, around 2 a.m., and plan on spending 7 to 8 hours to reach the peak. The mountains of the Yamunotri and Gangotri ranges, as well as the Kinner Kailash ranges, will provide you with warm and filtered sun rays. When you reach the summit and see the sun rise from the horizon, your jaw will drop and your eyes will not blink. After spending some time at the summit, we'll begin our descent and hike all the way back to base camp. Arrive at the campsite and have a fantastic dinner to round off the day.

At the base camp, have a great breakfast. Prepare to hear some fascinating local stories from your guide as you descend to Sankri village. Continue on the route and take in the vistas of the Himalayan snow-capped peaks. Arrive in the tiny Sankri settlement and share your hiking adventures over a cup of coffee with your buddies. Sankri village is where you'll spend the night.
