Gangotri Tapovan Trek
Rishikesh – Uttarkashi – Gangotri (250 kilometers/ 7-8 hours) (3048 meters/ 10,000 feet) Transfer to Uttarkashi via the mountainous towns of Chamba and Tehri, which takes approximately 5-6 hours. Check into your accommodation upon arriving in Gangotri, and spend the evening exploring the area on your own.
Bhojwassa (3792 mts/12440 ft) - Gangotri (3048 mts/10000 ft) The walk is 14 kilometres long and takes between 5 and 6 hours to complete. After breakfast, set out on a 3600 metre walk to Bhojwassa via Chirbasa. Stride through the dark jungle until you reach the spot, where you will notice a temple. Your destination is the campsite in Bhojawasa, which is located in the midst of tranquilly by the river. The afternoon will be free to explore the area and take in the spectacular sunset over the Bhagirathi ranges. Dinner will be served, and you will spend the night in your tents.
Bhojwassa - Gomukh (3890 mts/12760 ft) - Tapovan (4463 mts / 14640 ft) Post breakfast, get ready to trek to Gomukh at 3890 meters which is known as the source of the Ganges. Once you explore Gomukh region, start trekking to Tapovan, one of the picturesque high altitude alpine meadows in the area. As you trek towards Tapovan, you will come across steep climbs and once you conquer these climbs, the view of the surrounding peaks becomes clearer. Reach the campsite, have dinner and relax in your tents.
Tapovan - Bhojwassa (4340 m/14235 ft/4-5 hr trek) You'll be walking to Bhojwassa today. Dinner will be served when you get at the campsite, and you will spend the night in your tents.
Bhojwassa - Gangotri (4880 m/16000 ft) Trek (6 kms / 4-5 hrs). In the morning, after breakfast, trek down to Gangotri. The downhill trek will offer you some of the breathtaking sights. After 5-6 hours of trekking, you will reach the hotel you are going to stay overnight in Gangotri.
Gangotri – Rishikesh Post breakfast, get a drive to Rishikesh. Then your tour gets concluded.
